Thank you for considering Lieff Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein, LLP, as your personal injury attorney. Currently, we are litigating multiple personal injury lawsuits involving auto, SUV, truck, Yamaha Rhino and other vehicle accidents. We also represent persons injured and the families of victims of fatal accidents involving SUVs, 15-passenger vans, pickup trucks, heavy trucks and other passenger vehicles in cases filed in federal and state courts across America.

Described by The American Lawyer as “one of the nation’s premier plaintiffs’ firms,” Lieff Cabraser consists of over fifty lawyers and a large support staff in three offices nationwide. The firm has a diversified practice, representing plaintiffs in the fields of antitrust, securities and financial fraud, consumer fraud, employment, injury/torts, non-injury product liability, and human and civil rights. Since our founding in 1972, we have successfully resolved thousands of individual personal injury and wrongful death claims nationwide.
We are experienced trial lawyers that represent only plaintiffs. In many cases, we assisted our clients in persuading the corporate defendants to issue recalls or improve their safety procedures for the protection of all consumers and patients.
We offer our clients the following advantages:
The Strength of a National Law Firm
Lieff Cabraser is among the largest law firms in the United States that represent only plaintiffs. Our firm enjoys a national reputation for professional integrity and for the efficient, aggressive and responsible prosecution of our clients’ claims. Our legal skills, along with our ability to advance the costs in our clients’ cases, enable us to successfully litigate against many of the country’s largest corporations and the large defense firms that represent them.
The National Law Journal has annually ranked our firm as one of the top plaintiffs’ law firms in the nation since 2003. We are one of only two law firms, and the only law firm practicing injury law, to have received this award for the past six years.
An Outstanding Track Record
Our firm has played a leading role in many of the largest and most important civil cases in the United States over the last fifteen years. Lieff Cabraser has obtained over $400 million in verdicts, judgments and settlements for our clients in individual personal injury and wrongful death lawsuits. Since 1995 and working with co-counsel, we have achieved verdicts and settlements in excess of $10 billion in product liability class action lawsuits.
Last year, we served as lead trial counsel in a wrongful death suit against DaimlerChrysler for failing to correct a known defect in the transmission of its vehicles. The jury returned a $54 million verdict against DaimlerChrysler, finding it acted with malice. This constituted the fourth highest jury verdict in California in 2007. For their outstanding service to their clients and advancing the rights of all persons injured by defective products in Mraz v. DaimlerChrysler, Lieff Cabraser partners Robert J. Nelson and Scott P. Nealey received the 2008 California Lawyer of the Year (CLAY) Award in the field of personal injury law, and were also selected as finalists for attorney of the year by the Consumer Attorneys of California and the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association.
Attentive, Personal Service
Lieff Cabraser is committed to providing the very best representation and support possible for our clients, and to investing the time and resources necessary to succeed in every case.
We work closely with our clients throughout the litigation process to maximize and expedite their recoveries. Each client is assigned an individual attorney who is responsible for prosecuting the case and regularly communicating with the client. At the same time, our attorneys work as a team, drawing upon their combined knowledge, training and skills to provide our clients with decades of litigation experience.
Leaders Among Attorneys
Our attorneys include some of the country’s most distinguished legal practitioners, with expertise in investigating and filing personal injury lawsuits, prosecuting complex, cases through trial, and negotiating and crafting settlements that achieve justice for our clients. As a result, our attorneys are routinely appointed by federal and state courts across America to serve as the leaders in national personal injury and wrongful death cases.
Our attorneys are very active in the legal community. Many are directors and officers of various local and national bar associations. Many write articles, give speeches and teach courses on the various firm practice areas.
A number of our attorneys have received awards and honors for their distinguished skills and trial successes. Law & Politics magazine has recognized 14 Lieff Cabraser attorneys as Super Lawyers, outstanding attorneys who have received the highest degree of peer recognition and professional achievement in their respective practice areas and geographic regions. In 2008, California Lawyer magazine honored Lieff Cabraser attorneys Robert J. Nelson and Scott P. Nealey with the California Lawyer Attorney of the Year (CLAY) Award. They were the only plaintiffs attorneys to receive this award in the category of personal injury law.
