On February 1, 2005, The National Highway Traffic Safety
Administration (NHTSA) announced that DaimlerChrysler AG would be recalling
nearly 26,000 Dodge Durango SUVs from the 2005 model year because of
a faulty fuel tank filler valve. The valve may not fully close after
refueling, which could lead to a fuel leak. In the presence of an ignition
source, fuel leakage can pose a serious fire risk. |
